Yellowstone 2008

It was a cool 45 degrees when we headed out in the morning. The geysers filled the air with a thick fog and a yummy stench. Megan and Drew were troopers, trodging along to see any sign of life or a bubbling hot pond of goo.
The beautiful landscapes were everywhere. We have over 150 pictures on this trip. This was just a small sample. By the petrified tree, we saw these 3 huge moose right on the side of the road. It was amazing that with the crowds of people how tolerant they were and no one got hurt.
This graceful black tailed deer doe kept watch at our camp. That evening, three of her friends wanted to come for dinner. If I only had a bow!
Our little hikers did great!
This was an Osprey nest in the middle of a canyon. How amazing is that!
Another breath taking view at Lower Tower Falls. We took the dogs to the lake for a little swim and a run along the shore.
We ended up at the Mammoth Hot Springs. There were elk and people everywhere.
There was a huge herd of Bison about 200 head, the little babies were romping and the moms were feeding. Again the silly humans were trying to get the best pictures and getting to close for my comfort.
Good Ol' Faithful was right on time, as ususal.
This bull elk walked about 10 feet from the truck. He stopped in the middle of the street and let out a huge bugle. You could see about 3 cows in the woods just leading him along. That was really cool!We decided to head back to the camp for some Ravioli and S'Mores. We weren't two minutes into the cooking process when several Gray Jays and squirrels were upset that we didn't invite them to dinner. They were eating straight out of the boiling pot! We decided to "stick" with the S'Mores and call it a night.
A night around the camp fire. Ready to head for bed.
